What Concise Does

Concise is a writing clarity editor. It helps you review readability, sentence difficulty, passive voice, adverbs, complex words, wordy phrases, weak qualifiers, word count, sentence count, and estimated reading time.

Writing You Enter

Text you type or paste into Concise is used to provide the app's writing analysis features.

The core clarity checks run on your device and continue to work without an internet connection. Concise does not automatically upload document text, imported files, analysis results, projects, version history, or custom language entries for those checks.

Optional Concise AI

Concise AI is optional, cloud processed, and initiated only when you choose an AI tool and explicitly send a request. Opening the AI area does not send writing.

Only the text and non-content options you choose for that request are sent securely to a Firebase/Google Cloud backend operated for Concise and then to OpenAI. Concise does not store request text or AI output on its servers after processing, and writing content is not placed in Analytics, Crashlytics, RevenueCat attributes, or application logs.

AI results may be saved in local history on your device so you can reopen or delete them. You review every suggested edit before applying it.

Local Drafts and Settings

Concise may store drafts, editor state, projects, folders, tags, version history, writing profiles, custom language entries, preferences, and related app settings locally on your device so you can return to them later.

Local data can usually be managed in the app or by removing the app from your device, depending on your platform and device settings.

Anonymous App Identity

Concise does not require a visible account, email address, or sign-in screen. Firebase creates a random anonymous installation identifier so the backend can enforce App Check, purchase access, one-time allowances, and fair-use quotas.

RevenueCat uses that identifier and store transaction information to provide and restore access. Concise does not place raw Firebase or RevenueCat identifiers in analytics or logs. Reinstalling may create a new anonymous identity; store purchases can be restored using the applicable store account.

Support Requests

If you contact support through the support form, we use the information you send only to understand and respond to your request.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information in support emails unless it is necessary for the issue you want help with.

Diagnostics and Anonymous Usage Analytics

Firebase Analytics may collect content-free app events such as feature names, plan aliases, entitlement class, count or size buckets, platform, app version, and sanitized success or error codes. It never receives writing, titles, filenames, prompts, AI responses, project names, folders, tags, custom dictionary entries, email addresses, phone numbers, or raw app identifiers.

With your permission, the Concise website uses Firebase Analytics for content-free page views, store-link clicks, support-form completion status, and a pseudonymous browser identifier. It does not send support-form fields or message content. You can change this choice using Analytics choices in the website footer.

You can turn off anonymous app usage analytics in Concise Settings. Concise does not use advertising identifiers, ATT tracking, personalized advertising, or cross-app tracking.

Firebase Crashlytics receives sanitized crash and stability information such as app version, platform, failure category, and technical stack data. Concise removes writing, file paths, request bodies, provider responses, credentials, and other potentially sensitive exception details before reporting non-fatal errors.

Security and Content-Free Service Metadata

Firebase App Check helps verify that backend requests come from a genuine Concise installation. Firebase Functions performs AI requests and entitlement checks. A server-only Firestore ledger stores content-free records such as a hashed customer key, request ID, action type, quota units, timestamps, size or token counts, entitlement cache timestamps, and sanitized status codes.

The quota ledger does not store document text, prompts, questions, source quotes, filenames, titles, AI answers, summaries, or rewrites. Direct mobile-app access to this ledger is denied. Content-free operational records may be retained as needed for abuse prevention, quota integrity, billing reconciliation, security, and legal compliance.

Purchases

Concise Pro Lifetime is an optional one-time purchase for permanent on-device Pro tools. It is not a subscription, does not renew, and does not include unlimited recurring AI or future cloud services.

Concise Pro+ is an optional auto-renewable subscription. While active it includes all local Pro tools and cloud AI access subject to the plan's fair-use quota. The store shows the price and billing period before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the applicable store account; access normally continues until the paid-through date.

Apple or Google processes payment and store transaction information. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier, purchase history, store transaction information, and limited device/app metadata needed to provide and restore the premium entitlement.

Purchase information is used only to operate, verify, restore, and reconcile Concise access. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Refunds, cancellation, renewal, and payment disputes are handled under the purchasing store's policies. Restore uses the same Apple App Store or Google Play account. Cross-platform restoration depends on the store and RevenueCat identity/alias information available to Concise and may require restoring on the original platform first.

Service Providers

Concise uses Firebase and Google Cloud for anonymous authentication, App Check, server functions, content-free quota metadata, analytics, crash reporting, and remote feature configuration; RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement management; Apple and Google for app distribution and billing; OpenAI for user-initiated AI processing; and your email provider when you contact support.

These providers process limited information under their own terms and privacy policies. Concise does not display advertising, sell writing content, or use cloud AI text to build advertising profiles.

Personal Data Is Not Sold

We do not sell personal data. We use support information only as needed to respond to support, comply with legal obligations, or protect the app and its users.

Your Choices

You choose what writing you enter and what text, if any, you send to Concise AI. You can decline the AI disclosure, avoid cloud tools, turn off anonymous analytics, delete individual or all local AI results, delete documents, reset all local app data from Settings, manage app permissions, manage or cancel subscriptions through the store, and request store-managed refunds where applicable.

Resetting local data removes local editor recovery, drafts, projects, folders, tags, history, profiles, custom language, AI history, and preferences from that device. It does not cancel a subscription or delete store purchase records. For support or a request concerning content-free service metadata, use the support page.

AI Limitations and Sensitive Writing

AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. Concise does not provide an accuracy guarantee or educational, legal, medical, financial, or professional certification. Review output before relying on or applying it.

Do not send secrets, confidential third-party material, regulated data, or sensitive personal information to Concise AI unless you are authorized to do so and accept cloud processing.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Concise changes. The effective date will be updated when the policy is revised.
